Professor Andrea Alù, EPJ AM Associate Editor, recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2021 by Clarivate

It is with great pleasure and pride that we share some news from our editorial board. Professor Andrea Alù, Associate Editor of EPJ Applied Metamaterials (EPJ AM), has recently been recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2021 by Clarivate. “Recognizing the true pioneers in their fields over the last decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™.” (Clarivate) He achieved this distinction in the Physics category for the fifth year in a row.
Professor Alù is the founding director of the Photonics Initiative at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), Einstein Professor of Physics at the CUNY Graduate Center and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the City College of New York. He is also a Senior Research Scientist and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include applied electromagnetics, nano-optics and nanophotonics, optical and acoustic metamaterials and metasurfaces and cloaking and scattering.
As Associate Editor of EPJ AM, he helps the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Yang Hao, to lead a distinguished, international editorial board. He has co-authored two open access research papers in EPJ AM, namely "Broadband absorption with gradient metasurfaces" and “Design of cloaked Yagi-Uda antennas" We congratulate Professor Alù on his award and thank him for his valuable contribution to the journal.
