A profile εz (x) (inset) is designed to specifically have a large discontinuity at the boundary between the material and the vacuum. As a result, the reflectivity (top) exhibits large reflection at angles close to grazing but still goes to zero at grazing. The field profile (bottom) is given to show that the system still supports a HBS.
