Transmission spectrum through a 1240 mm cell containing HCN at ≈210 ppm concentration (T = 294 K, P = 20 hPa). This absorption line corresponds to a pure rotational resonance of HCN. The experimental result (circular symbols) is extracted from Bigourd et al. [24]. The red solid line shows the analytical result using the dielectric constant for HCN described in the main text.
