(a) Unit cell of the single-layered cut wires metasurface. The geometrical dimensions of the unit cell are: ax = 20 mm, ay = 6 mm, lx = 19.6 mm, w = 0.3 mm and d = 0.4 mm, (b) unit cell of the single-layered Z metasurface. The geometrical dimensions of the unit cell are: ax = ay = 6 mm, lx = 5.8 mm, ly = 5.7 mm, w = 0.3 mm and d = 0.4 mm, (c) simulated transmission response of the cut wires metasurface under normal incidence, (d) simulated transmission responses under normal and oblique incidence of the single-layered Z metasurface in H-plane, (e) charge distribution at the fundamental (m0) resonance of the cut wires structure. Dark mode is not excited under normal incidence due to a zero net dipolar momentum, (f) charge distribution at the fundamental (m0) and first higher order (m1) resonances of the Z structure. Under normal incidence, there is no creation of dipolar magnetic momentum and therefore dark mode is not excited. However under off-normal incidence, magnetic field excitation occurs and currents flow in opposite direction in the Z structure, creating a magnetic momentum and exciting the dark mode.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
